Four girls from Year 8 of Burgess Hill School for Girls took part in a sponsored silence to raise money for Breakthrough Breast Cancer.

The sponsored silence took place in October during a normal school day and the girls communicated using dry wipe boards whenever they were asked a question.  The girls said that it has taken this long to collect all the sponsor money as they have managed to raise £230.75.

Rebecca Fry, Lauren Hibbert, Beth Hutchinson and Lucy O’Reilly said they wanted to raise money for Breast Cancer as the disease had affected someone they know.
