The Junior School pupils at Burgess Hill School for Girls were delighted when Lizzie Tovell, a former pupil, came in to talk about her life as a model.
The girls listened with great interest, after getting a taste for the fashion industry from their experiences in the school's Junior Fashion Designers' Club. Lizzie has graced the cover of Italian Vogue and featured in campaigns by Toast and Paul Smith.
"It was great when Lizzie showed us how to walk on the catwalk" said one Year 5 pupil. This will certainly come in handy this Saturday (15th May) when girls from Year 5 and 6 will model the eco-fashion outfits they have designed at the Lindfield Arts Festival.
Lizzie talked to the girls with great honesty about the reality of modeling and the importance of carrying on your education, eating sensibly and being prepared to work hard.
