Year 4 pupils from Burgess Hill School for Girls investigated the natural environment of the North Downs during their two day trip at Juniper Hall Field Studies Centre in Dorking, Surrey on 29th and 30th April.
The girls enjoyed taking part in various activities including small mammal trapping to identify British mammals, invertebrate studies, using a compass to follow a treasure trail and carrying out a river study.
Year 4 teacher, Mrs Sue Collins, commented "The girls all had a great time and behaved beautifully."
Juniper Hall is a 17th Century country house leased from the National Trust and set in a quiet wooded valley in the North Downs. It has an outdoor classroom set in an area of outstanding geographical and biological interest which enables students of all ages to carry out investigations, including the human impact on the natural environment.
