This year the Mid Sussex Music Festival took place over two weekends in November with classes in Piano, Woodwind and Brass, Strings and Singing. Over 100 girls from Burgess Hill School for Girls took part either as soloists or in a variety of Ensembles, and they gained valuable performing experience.
The four professional adjudicators gave invaluable advice and constructive criticism and all commented on the high standards of playing and singing shown this year. Special award cups were presented by Janet Canetty-Clarke, Conductor Emeritus of the Ditchling Choral Society (now the Sussex Chorus).

The Festival concluded with a Showcase concert on Friday 26th November with many of the winners taking part.
Head of Music, Mr Haslam, said, "Congratulations to all the girls who took part over the two weekends and win, lose or draw, the most important thing was the experience gained of performing and listening to others perform."
