Fourteen Year 9 and 10 girls from Burgess Hill School for Girls took part in the second half of their French Exchange with Notre Dame School in Abbeville in February. The French girls arrived in England on Saturday 10th February and departed the following Thursday.
After collecting the girls from the school car park, the French girls spent the weekend enjoying the English lifestyle with their English families. During the week they went on many excursions to places nearby. On Tuesday the French girls travelled to London to take part in a bit of sightseeing and shopping. Some of the places they visited were Covent Garden, Buckingham Palace and Harrods. They also took part in other trips, such as one to Brighton, and they explored Burgess Hill town.
First thing on Thursday morning, all of the girls taking part congregated for a leaving breakfast in the dining room at Burgess Hill School where they were served a variety of juices and hot croissants with jam and other spreads. The girls all bade a sad farewell and handed the French girls gifts provided by the School. All the girls thoroughly enjoyed the experience which started back in October with their successful trip to Abbeville. This is a continuation of the strong links we have with Abbeville, one of Burgess Hill’s twin towns.
