To complement their tropical rainforest study, year 5 girls from Burgess Hill School for Girls recently visited Drusillas’ Zoo in Alfriston. The girls were able to handle Zoe the rainbow constrictor, Colin the hissing cockroach - both very much alive and, as you can see, a stuffed freshwater crocodile that had been confiscated by H.M. Customs.
The educational talk was fascinating and heightened the girls' awareness of the fragility of tropical rainforest ecosystems.
