As their final English unit, Year 6 investigated the work of Roger Hargreaves and produced books in the style of the Mr Men and Little Misses.
The challenge involved creating an original character based on the personality of the pupil writing the book and illustrating their own story with suitable pictures. The language was restricted to words of one and two syllables and had to include a rhetorical question and some adult wit. Books such as 'Little Miss Clutter', 'Mr. Neat' and 'Little Miss Music' were quite delightful to see. The older pupils then popped into Year 1 and Penguins to read their books and gauge their audience's reaction... which was jolly favourable! The books will be on display in the Science Room on Founder's Day for all to view.
