Carlotta Corkerton-Purchas from Burgess Hill School for Girls was recently awarded a certificate from the British Heart Foundation for the £195 she collected in sponsorship for this year’s Sponsored Horseback Ride over the Borde Hill Estate and neighbouring farmland. Carlotta has been the top junior fundraiser for three consecutive years raising a total of £328. The event was a great success involving 250 riders and raising just under £12,500 in sponsorship.
The prize was donated by Bodle Brothers and was presented to Carlotta in a school assembly by Mrs Green, Chairman of the local branch of the British Heart Foundation.
The senior fund raiser was Susan Rickard from Fairwarp, who also raised £195. Susan’s father has greatly benefited from research funded by the British Heart Foundation.
The British Heart Foundation would like to thank all the participants, helpers, Borde Hill Estate and sponsors who made the event so successful.
