Three of the Music Scholars at the Burgess Hill School for Girls have been awarded prestigious places in top music colleges.

One girl has been offered a vocal scholarship at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama but has a music degree at the Royal Holloway College in her sights where she is auditioning for an instrumental and vocal scholarship.  She is playing Mary Magdalene in the school’s production of ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’ in March.

Another has a place at the Royal College of Music to study double bass. Her talent led to an immediate offer of a place on the day of her audition.

The third girl has been awarded places at the Royal Academy of Music, the Trinity College of Music and at the Royal Academy to study violin. She has decided to study at the Royal Academy.  Currently the Leader of the Brighton Youth Orchestra, she looks forward to a future as an orchestral musician ideally in a ballet orchestra.
