The girls at Burgess Hill School Junior School have been active in raising money for Great Ormond Street Hospital. The school’s former Headmistress, Mrs Rosemary Lewis, launched the appeal earlier in the year. She had personal experience of the life-saving work performed every day by this well loved hospital. Her own grand daughter’s life had been saved by the expertise of the staff at Great Ormond Street. On receiving the cheque Mrs Lewis said, “Thank you so much for raising the brilliant sum of over £1,000 for Great Ormond Street. I am certain it will be put to excellent use and greatly appreciated.”
