The Match Girl's Christmas

Year 3 performed The Match Girl's Christmas to their parents on Tuesday 13th December.

Below Annie Davey, Year 3, explains the narrative.

For Year 3's Christmas production we are doing the Match Girl's Christmas. I'll tell you what it's about. It all starts off at a Christmas fair where a man called Old Tom tells 4 children a story about a match girl.

The match girl tries to sell her matches but no-one will buy her matches. She had to earn money otherwise her father would beat her. She was very poor but meanwhile at the fair the Nativity play was on.

The match girl finds somewhere safe at last in the stable. Jesus is near her and she is safe now. We all enjoyed hearing Lucy sing a solo. We bet her family will be very proud of her.

Year 3 all love singing and it's been a great play to do. All Year 3 would like to thank Mrs Playford for putting this wonderful play together. Mrs Playford has done so well and we have all tried to impress her as much as we can. Year 3 have really enjoyed putting this play together and spending time with Mrs Playford!
