One hundred and forty girls from the Junior School at Burgess Hill School for Girls took part in a colourful end of term Spring Concert on Tuesday 27th March. A fabulous range of instruments was played with confidence and skill in front of a full house. Instruments included recorders, violins, African drums, a bassoon and many more. “What a wonderful range of instruments, and played with such aplomb” as one grandparent said, "That was a real feast of colour and music and I enjoyed every minute of it."
The whole evening was a real celebration of talent, and a tribute to the girls' music teachers and to Mrs Playford, the Junior School's Head of Music who arranged such a wonderfully busy programme. Miss Fulleylove, Head of the Junior School said, “It was a fantastic evening. It is hard to believe these girls are only aged between seven and eleven. I would be very surprised indeed if some of these girls do not go on to play in professional orchestras when they are older."
