Burgess Hill School for Girls stands in 14 acres of beautiful grounds within a conservation area close to the centre of the town. It is a five minute walk from the railway station, which is on the Brighton to London line. Coaches and minibuses also collect girls from outlying areas including Crawley, East Grinstead, Henfield, Horsham, Hove, Lewes, Newick, Southwater, Turners Hill and Worthing. Situated close to excellent road networks, 10 miles from Brighton city centre and only 20mins from Gatwick, the School is easily accessible for local and international students.

We have small classes with well qualified, professional staff dedicated to helping each pupil realise her potential. With our focus firmly on girls and the way they learn, the single sex environment gives the girls space and security in which to build their self esteem and confidence. Partnerships with local schools and involvement within the community provide a further dimension; girls are encouraged to seek challenge and embrace opportunities.

As a day school we welcome in the region of fifty overseas students and girls from other regions of the UK as boarders. The combination of all age groups and different nationalities gives a pleasing diversity and the school is enriched by the interaction between the girls. Senior Students benefit from the opportunity to work with the younger children in our Nursery and Junior Schools and they are excellent role models in return.

We offer the opportunity for extended day supervision for younger pupils and from age 7 girls can enjoy ‘flexi’ boarding should the need arise.

Facilities are regularly reviewed and updated to support the demands of the academic and the wider curriculum.
