“We raised £1012 at our Year 6 Fun Afternoon for Charity” beamed Amy Scott, a very pleased Charity prefect from the Junior School at Burgess Hill School for Girls. The girls and their parents worked very hard to produce a fun packed afternoon for the rest of the Junior School to enjoy. This fund raising event has become an annual feature of the end of Year 6. Stalls included “Splat the Teacher”…where eager pupils had the opportunity to drench their PE teacher with well aimed wet sponges.
Jewellery stalls, make up and nail art ranked alongside cream teas and Tin Can Alley.
Fortunately the sun poked its head out just long enough for the afternoon to be the best yet in terms of money raised by the girls for their chosen charities which, this year, were Breakthrough Cancer and the NSPCC.
