On Wednesday 26th September 2007 the pupils at Burgess Hill School for Girls donated gifts of food to help the charity Lorica, St Patrick’s.
The charity provides food and shelter for homeless people in the Brighton area. The Harvest food donations provide the baseline foodstuffs necessary to enable cost-effective meals for the residents of the Nightshelter.
Father Alan led the Harvest assembly and shared with the girls some of the work that the Trust undertakes. After the assembly there was a hive of activity as the Year 3 girls and their teachers and the Junior School Charity prefects packed the mountains of pasta and other carefully chosen goodies into the school minibuses ready to be transported down to Brighton.
There were very happy, grateful faces when the donations were unloaded at St Patrick’s Church in Brighton.
