Burgess Hill School for Girls’ U16 Netball team took part in the Sussex Round of the National Schools’ Netball Tournament at Roedean School. The girls produced their best netball of the season, playing with desire and passion. In the group stage they beat Imberhorne 8-5, St Bede’s 16-3, Ardingly 8-5, Uckfield 11-7, Roedean 10-6, Angmering 12-3 and Mayfield 11-8 to go through as winners of their section, where in a tough semi-final play off they were up against Hurst College. In what proved to be the match of the day, both teams put on an excellent game of netball. After full time the match ended with the score at 10 – 10, extra time was played, the Burgess Hill girls held their nerve to eventually come through 13-12 and book a place in the South East Round of the National Schools’ Tournament.
