Year 6 Technology Day
|
  |
It was certainly wet both inside and outside Burgess Hill School for Girls on Tuesday 15th January! The 'Candy Store' project was completed in just one day when girls from Year 6 joined the Senior School to have fun experiencing different areas of the Technology department. Sweet wrappers were recycled into funky items of jewellery and two felt panels of an array of sweets were created from coloured wools. The girls also made flashing candy shaped badges in keeping with the theme of the day. The process of making felt involves vigorously rolling the wool fibres in warm water to make the wool felt together, so it was on with the aprons and rubber gloves and a lot of muscle power! The finished results along with other pieces of textile work produced by the students will be displayed at the Brighton Centre from 8 - 10th February as part of the 'Creative Stitches and Hobbycrafts Fair'.
