The Burgess Hill School for Girls U13 Hockey Team took part in the annual invitational Woldingham Hockey Tournament last weekend.  There were twelve schools competing and the girls showed great character and determination throughout the tournament.  In the group stage they beat Woldingham ‘A’ 2-1, Notre Dame 3-0, Thomas Clapham 2-0, Kent College 2-0 and lost 2-1 to Danes Hill.  However, the girls went through as winners of their section and came up against a strong Mayfield side in the semi-finals.  Here they played some excellent hockey and battled hard to win 1-0 on penalty corners.  In the final, the girls rose to the challenge with the game ending in a 0-0 draw, but the girls had the momentum and earned a short corner to win 1-0 and become winners of the tournament.
