Twenty-six of the trees in the grounds at Burgess Hill School for Girls have been planted by former Head Girls, a tradition which was continued at a special outdoor assembly on Tuesday 13th May. Lauren Morley, the Head Girl for this past academic year, along with the help of her fellow School Officers planted an Amelanchier ‘Lamarckii’ tree (also known as Snowy mespilus) at the back of the School in what was an emotional occasion as Lauren’s last official duty as Head Girl.

It is also traditional at this assembly to announce the School Officers for the next academic year; Sophie Brammer takes on the role of Head Girl and she is joined by Emma Gadsden and Shrea Patel as her Deputies. Vivian Leung, Fiona Harlow, Jessica Palmer, Katherine Paul, Flaminia Martin, Hazel Prendergast and Louisa Collins complete the School Officer team.
