Two members of the Burgess Hill School for Girls’ PE department embarked on the gruelling 120 mile South Down Way bike ride in aid of The Argus Appeal. In what were very hot conditions they completed the ride over the three days. 220 cyclists took part in the charity ride and the staff took on the challenge of starting at Beachy Head and finishing in Winchester. Between them they raised just over £400 for the charity.
“It was incredibly hot but great fun. The challenge of the hills was exhausting; we gained huge satisfaction from achieving our goal. The views of Sussex were spectacular and it was a wonderful way to meet new people. I would love to do it again!” Many thanks to Rob Gillespie who was part of our team, who was always there as the handy man mending all our punctures!
