Burgess Hill School Junior and Intermediate athletics teams were inspired by the presence of Dame Kelly Holmes at the Sussex Round of the Track and Field Cup Competition held at K2, Crawley. The double Olympic Champion was performing in the TV programme Celebrity Superstars which was being recorded ready for the start of a new series. The girls had the opportunity to meet Dame Kelly and had a team photo with her! This inspired the girls to achieve some great performances on the track and field with many personal bests being recorded. 

The Junior team finished with a massive 38 points clear of the second place holders, Farlington School who had a total of 338 points, to gain a place in a Regional ‘A’ string final. The Intermediate team had some mixed performances but still gained first place in the competition to also advance to a Regional ‘A’ string final. The girls now have one month to train in preparation for the Regional Round. Another excellent achievement!
