The Junior School pupils at Burgess Hill School for Girls learnt all about eye health on 20th June when they put on their sunglasses to join with the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association’s Shades’ Day.
The girls were amongst thousands of young people and adults all over the country, who paid £1 to put on their shades, sun visors or sun hats, to raise awareness for the need to protect their eyes when outside during the day. Yeats House also ran a tuck shop where the girls could buy cakes, sweets, drinks, play games and of course purchase cool sunglasses!
£385 was raised by the pupils, which will help Guide Dogs for the Blind bring independence and mobility to blind and partially-sighted people across the UK.
