On Friday 20th June, all the girls at Burgess Hill Junior School once again took part in the TESCO Great School Run. It is an event, now in its third year, which is aiming to encourage children to engage in a healthy lifestyle. In 2006, Burgess Hill Junior School were part of a successful world record attempt for the number of children participating in the largest simultaneous walk or run. The record currently claims that 215670 people took part and each year the aim is to beat it.
This year around 150 children from Burgess Hill School for Girls took part in this event, and completed it with much enthusiasm. Girls from Year 10 were the pace makers and Gwen Williams, a Year 11 student, organised the 2km route that led the runners both inside and outside of the School grounds. The School would like to thank those parents who assisted in running the event, as well as all the girls and staff who participated.
