Our Day Trip to Thorpe Park

Early rise!  All of the boarders had to be in Silverdale for 9:00 for the hour coach trip to Thorpe Park led by Miss Peskett, Stephanie and Ash! Everyone was tired but extremely excited to be going. The sun was beaming through the clouds so you could tell it was going to be a nice day.

We arrived and arranged a meeting point for 4’o clock. We left Miss P ‘on-duty’ in the Glass Kitchen, so we knew where to find her if in trouble. The rest of us all went  our separate ways in groups of 3 or 4. We approached our first Rolla-coaster, Colossus. Stephanie (the gap student), Mel, Dawn and I queued  in the line for ages, we got so close to the ride, and then someone who just got off the ride decided to show everyone what he had for breakfast! So they shut the ride for another painful half an hour! We finally approached the ride, and it was the most stomach churningly thrilling minute and a half of my life!

The other groups also went from ride to ride. The whimps went to buy food, drinks, and generally just soak in the sun! They got soaked watching ‘we brave folk’ ride the Log-flume. Despite having to queue for ages it was a blast, sharing the screams and smell of fear mingled with excitement and anticipation until our turn came ….

Most of the day we spent in the sun waiting to go on rides or losing our voices from screaming so much! There were thousands of people there that day, all different ages. It shows you don’t have to be young to like a little bit of an adrenaline rush now and then!
