Seventeen girls and members of staff from Burgess Hill School for Girls have just returned from a very successful exchange visit to the Collège Notre Dame in Abbeville. This is the thirteenth year of the trip, and the girls always return surprised to see how much they have learned about French language and culture during the six days spent with their welcoming French family hosts. ‘As well as being very educational, it’s great fun and a brilliant way of making new friends’ was one comment which seems to sum up the exchange experience.
Excursions during the visit included a walk across the beautiful Bay of the River Somme at low tide, and a trip to the cathedral city of Amiens.
Girls from the French school will be coming to Burgess Hill in February to stay with their English partners.
