Burgess Hill School for Girls Year 10 and 11 Business Studies, Textiles and Graphic Products students have just returned from a very successful trip to Madrid, Spain. The purpose of the visit was to learn more about the culture of this EU country and find out how business organisations market and produce their products.
The group visited the ‘Coca Cola’ factory which is the largest in Europe. It gave the students an insight into the entire process in the bottling plant. The group also visited El Corte Inglés, the premier department store chain in Spain, to learn more about retail management, and the Bodegas Castejón Winery to see batch production at first hand.
A full day sightseeing tour to Segovia and Avila old cities provided further cultural highlights and the Sunday morning visits to the ‘Rastro’ flea market and the Modern Art Museum also proved very popular.
