‘Impossible is nothing’ was the key message that inspired every single Sixth Form student at Burgess Hill School for Girls on Thursday 25th of September. The students were lucky enough to listen to a lively, interesting and incredibly inspirational talk by Rob Gauntlett. Conquering Everest at the young age of nineteen and successfully travelling from one pole to the other, Rob Gauntlett and James Hooper have achieved, what many would claim as ‘The Impossible’.
Rob’s final message was ‘find your own Everest and conquer it’. Probably none of us will climb Everest or travel from pole to pole or even get close to some of Rob’s achievements, but I believe that was not the point of Rob’s talk. On that Thursday he gave an exceptional talk. He truly fascinated, inspired and motivated everyone in that room, whether for their daily lives or in more focussed personal challenges. I reiterate and repeat, ‘Impossible really is nothing’.
