Burgess Hill School for Girls U15 Tennis team were in outstanding form at the National Quarter Finals of the Nestlé Schools Tennis Competition held in Gosling Sports Park, Welwyn Garden City on Tuesday 21st November. They now go on to represent the South at the National Finals, to be held in Bolton on 9th and 10th December. The girls will be playing off for one of the top four positions in the whole country.
In the semi-final stage the girls were up against a strong Northwood College side. Burgess Hill played superbly winning 4 matches to 2 and booked a place in the final against their opponents Lady Eleanor Holles, Middlesex. The team showed character, determination and a desire to win throughout the match. They played superbly, running down every point and showing an excellent display of powerful hitting. After the singles, Burgess Hill were leading by 3 matches to 1, with only one doubles win needed to take the match. The outstanding form of all four players enabled them to win both double matches and end an excellent day with a 5 matches to 1 win.
