On Tuesday 26th September, Burgess Hill School for Girls U12 Netball team took part in a friendly tournament, hosted by Downlands School, for eleven schools from West Sussex and went on to be the overall winning team.
All the games were played in good spirit and the standard of netball was excellent. In the first round games, Burgess Hill School for Girls squad members took their turn in matches. They beat Sackville 2-1, Downlands A 4-0, Holy Trinity 9-0, and Oakmeeds 3-0. All the shooters were on form and a lot of goals were scored. Their good form continued in the semi-finals. With their centre court play dominating they beat Warden Park convincingly to go through to the Final. Sackville also reached the Final. Burgess Hill played hard and eventually won by one goal thanks to excellent defensive play.
Mrs Stratford was delighted with this beginning to the season and is very hopeful that they will build on this first victory.
