On Thursday 9th November musicians from Burgess Hill School for Girls gave a concert at the United Reformed Church, Junction Road, as part of their Lunchtime Series. The sun shone through the beautiful stained glass windows as the girls entertained a packed Church with a wide variety of music.
Particular highlights were Elizabeth Bolton's expressive playing of Gluck's Dance of the Blessed Spirits for Flute, and Poppea Daniel's fiery interpretation of Manuel De Falla's Ritual Fire Dance for Violin. The concert ended with Poppea joined by Emma Phillips as soloists in Bach's Double Concerto for Two Violins in D Minor accompanied by the Senior String Ensemble.
