Burgess Hill School for Girls is again celebrating superb GCSE results.  74% of all entries achieved A* or A grades; over a third of the year group gained these top grades in all their subjects, whilst a staggering 95% of the girls were rewarded with at least two A or A* grades.  The overall pass rate was 100% with over 98% at the key A*- C grades.

The success of the girls studying separate sciences was particularly pleasing with 100% A* and A grades across the three subjects.  Similarly, the performance of the girls in language subjects continues to be far above national standards; almost every girl takes one or more modern foreign language at GCSE and this year 80% of grades in French were at A or A* level.

An impressive 35% of the year group gained 6 or more A* grades: Lucy Baird Murray; Sophie Binns; Chloe de Souza; Nicola Elder; Beatrice Farmelo; Hannah Goodbourn; Anna Graham; Megan Hector; Emily Ho; Ivy Ho; Charlotte Jenkins; Emma Joslin; Phyllis Liu; Elizabeth Lynch; Kate Mactear; Florence Moon; Sophie Mok; Yasmin Rashid; Tanera Simons and Poppy Sparling.  These stunning results give each of them a wonderful platform for further study.  Particular congratulations also go to Charlotte Frost and Tiffany So who gained A* in 10 subjects to add to their other grades and to Sarah Lucas who swept the board with 11 A* grades.

Headmistress, Ann Aughwane said “All the girls can be extremely proud of their achievements; they have excelled in all curriculum areas and achieved many personal best performances.  I am very pleased for each of them; they can now begin their A level courses with well justified confidence in their ability to meet the challenges ahead. The girls, staff and parents deserve our congratulations on a job well done! ”
