The Sixth Form Debating team from Burgess Hill School for Girls have qualified for the South East Regional Finals of the Debating Matters Competition.
Talented speakers Gwenllian Williams, Emily Merrett-McKinnell, Pollyanna Brackenbury and Laura Moss-Bromage were given the topic of ‘The benefits of boxing for young people’ and also spoke in favour of democracy to win their rounds in the Crawley and Reigate competition.
They will now go on to compete at the South East Regional Finals of the Debating Matters Competition, which is run by the Institute of Ideas, in February.
