Guidance and advice is available to all age groups with formal advice starting in Year 9.

Prior to choosing GCSE options in the spring term of Year 9, the Head of Careers and Form Tutors lead the girls through a programme designed to assist the decision making process. Girls and parents are also invited to an ‘Options Evening’ where staff are on hand to give information on individual subjects and the choice process as a whole. Individual interviews with the Head of Careers are available to support the girls as they make their GCSE choices. In the Spring Term all Year 9 pupils take part in the 'Take Your Daughter To Work' day which provides them with a very valuable insight into the world of work.

In Year 11, the girls are well supported by a team of experienced staff. Guidance on post GCSE options is delivered through the Life Skills programme. Tutors will also support and guide the girls in their decision making during PSHE time . In addition, the Head of Upper School, Head of Sixth Form or members of the Senior Leadership Team will have a one-one interview with each girl prior to her mock examinations to consider her progress, interests and options. This is followed up after the mock examinations and girls are welcome to seek further advice as the need arises.

In the Sixth Form the girls have access to a well resourced Higher Education Library. The Head of Careers is on hand to respond to questions at any stage.  In Lower Sixth, girls and parents are invited to a Higher Education Evening which takes place after the module examinations. In the Summer Term, the girls begin their preparation for University application.

In both Year 11 and the Lower Sixth, girls have the opportunity to take aptitude tests, administered by Cambridge Occupational Analysts.

The Careers Room is attached to the LRC. There is a very good selection of up-to-date resources, including software.
