Year 11 students from Burgess Hill School for Girls spent a week in Caceres, Spain, with students from their partner school, the Colegio Internacional San Jorge in the week before the half term holiday.
The seven girls, accompanied by their teacher, received a warm welcome from staff and students alike and had an excellent opportunity to sample Spanish life at first hand by living with their partner’s family for the week.
The trip offered the opportunity to improve their Spanish and see something of the lives of Spanish teenagers.
In addition to spending time in school, the girls were able to visit the old Roman town of Merida and an extraordinary museum of modern art set up on the outskirts of Cáceres by the late German artist, Wolf Vostell.
The girls are looking forward to welcoming their Spanish partners in March 2010, when they will have a taste of life in Burgess Hill.
