Burgess Hill pupils had a fascinating day as they become millers at West Blatchington windmill on Tuesday 13th October.
The Year 1 girls from Burgess Hill School for Girls made flour by grinding corn using the quern. Some of the girls were surprised to find out how hard this was. They all enjoyed climbing the ladders and looking at the different parts of the mill, which included finding the windmill mouse!
At the end of the trip the teachers returned to school with 24 very tired little millers.
