“Books for pleasure, books for fun, books for information!” This was the message from pupils in Class 4SC at Burgess Hill School for Girls who performed a play to parents to promote the use of their local library.
The play, which took place on Tuesday, was part of a weekly class assembly; parents are invited to come along and watch their children hold the assembly themselves.
The girls have learned that there are many different sorts of books that can be borrowed from a library and in their play they took on the role of these books. The girls even created their own costumes which were large colourful book covers to complete their roles as books.
Head of Junior School, Miss Fenneke Fulleylove said “Our Wednesday class assemblies are always one of the real highlights of the week for me. The classes come up with some wonderful ideas and the girls always love taking part”.
