There is a great focus on Careers and Higher Education guidance in the 6th Form, and it is delivered in a fun, energetic and vibrant way by experts in the area.
Two fully equipped Careers and Higher Education rooms contain the most up to date software, prospectuses and books.
Students are encouraged to organise appropriate work experience where possible, particularly for vocations such as teaching, veterinary science and medicine. Indeed, programmes of support are available for all of the most competitive university courses.
Girls are encouraged to visit university open days, and attend taster courses where possible. Our guidelines are that students may miss two days of school per year for these initiatives, and it is often possible to organise them at weekends and in the school holidays.
Each year, the majority, if not all, of the girls leaving the Upper Sixth go on to Higher Education at the best British universities or to prestigious Colleges of Art, Music or Drama.
A number of students go to Oxford or Cambridge and each year the school is successful in achieving hard won places at Medical Schools. Degrees achieved vary from Medicine to Law, Accountancy, Classics, Engineering, English, Architecture, Modern Languages, Business Studies, History and many others.
A list of the destination of leavers is available on request.
