Our aim is to provide a broad, varied and stimulating curriculum within a warm and caring environment. Everyone works hard but we have a lot of fun on the way.
A relaxed atmosphere prevails in this vibrant part of the school, where each child is helped to reach her full potential socially, physically, emotionally and intellectually.
Whilst academic achievement is important, we believe that we should educate young people for life. We provide education in the broadest sense aiming for high academic standards whilst at the same time, developing the whole personality: the social, imaginative, creative, spiritual, practical and physical. Self-confidence and high self-esteem are at the top of the list.
All girls are encouraged to participate fully in the many extra-curricular activities that are available.
The pastoral side of the school is very strong with much importance placed on developing confidence and good self-esteem.
Neither web pages nor a prospectus can give you the true feel of a school's atmosphere - this you need to experience for yourself. We would be delighted if you would like to visit us so that we can make you welcome and show you around.
You can read our full ISI inspection report on our website but perhaps the paragraphs below, taken from the report, sum up what we believe we offer our girls.
“The rich and stimulating educational experience, the high standard of the environment, the plentiful resources, the outstanding quality of display and the dedicated teaching, the excellent understanding of individual needs, all combine to encourage girls to develop their abilities and talents to the full”.
“The quality of relations between staff and pupils is excellent. Respect and courtesy are evident and so is humour; relations are clearly warm and relaxed and there is an air of happiness and purpose”.
“The quality of pastoral care is outstanding and ensures an extremely secure and caring environment in which pupils feel safe and well cared for. Meticulous attention is given to providing for the welfare, health and safety of the pupils”.
