On the 17th June 2008, my Year 9 class and I went out on a very enjoyable and exhilarating trip. With great enthusiasm we set off to Ditchling Common for a combined Geography and Maths fieldwork day.

"Learning, but having fun at the same time" was the quote from one Year 8 student at Burgess Hill School for Girls when the Carbon Challenge Roadshow visited the school on Wednesday 2nd July.

On Tuesday 24th June, a group from Year 8 in Burgess Hill School for Girls performed a routine to Michael Jackson's 'Thriller'. It was a way of saying thank you to Katie Thomson, an Upper Sixth student who led the Dance Club in School over the last two years.

Following the successful hatching of their five Painted Lady butterflies, the Reception classes at Burgess Hill School for Girls enjoyed their own butterfly day.

Julian Baggini, a well renowned philosopher and author of numerous inspiring philosophical books, including 'The Pig That Wants to Be Eaten and 99 Other Thought Experiments', came to Burgess Hill School for Girls on June 16^th to lecture on his books and other philosophical issues.

Burgess Hill Infants' Sports Event took place on the afternoon of Thursday 26th of June.

Burgess Hill School for Girls' Junior Athletics team travelled up to Hull, last weekend to compete in the National Finals of the English Schools' Track and Field Cup Competition.

The Burgess Hill School School for Girls' U12 Rounders' team took part in the West Sussex Tournament held at Oathall School last week.

Paddington Bear has played an integral part in 2TP's classroom. Every weekend one of the girls in the class who has been hard working, polite and caring is given the opportunity to take Paddington home and write his diary for him.

Last February, eighty two students from Years 9, 10 and 11 entered the Intermediate Mathematical Challenge, a national competition organised by the UK Mathematics Trust.
