Our School
Pastoral Care
Our pastoral system is designed to encourage and support the development of each individual from the moment she arrives in school until the time she leaves. We want to provide your daughter with the skills and confidence which will help her to make the most of her time with us, at university and thereafter.
Every member of staff has a part to play in the pastoral care of your daughter, though some will feature more significantly than others. Whatever her stage in the School, your daughter will have a form tutor who will see her regularly as a member of the tutor group and individually when the need arises. The form tutor will have an overview of your daughter’s academic and personal development and will ensure that she gets the help, advice and support she needs. Your daughter’s form tutor will normally be the first point of contact if you have any queries or concerns.
Together we aim to ensure that your daughter
-
is made to feel welcome
-
is individually known and knows this to be the case
-
is provided with a supportive learning environment
-
is encouraged to take advantage of the wide range of opportunities available to her
-
knows whom she can approach if she is anxious or in difficulty
-
has the necessary guidance to support her in making important life choices
Choosing your daughter’s school is not just about academic provision or facilities. The partnership between you, the staff and your daughter is fundamental in ensuring that her experience is positive and productive. We encourage you to get in touch whenever there is an issue to be raised or a problem that needs to be shared.

Junior School
Within the Junior School, central to the role of every form teacher, is the support, care and development of the girls in their charge. The Pastoral Care Co-ordinator and the Head of Junior School are kept fully informed of issues that may impact on a child’s welfare.
