Old Girls' Presentation
The Burgess Hill School for Girls 'Old Girls' Association' (OGA) held a special 'Cake and Break' morning where a Sixth Form student was announced as the recipient of a special recognition award.
Georgina Coad was selected for the award after fellow students nominated her as the girl they felt particularly worthy of special recognition for her contribution to the year group, over and above academic achievement.
The OGA Secretary, Katharine Ruff, presented Georgina with a 75 pounds book token in front of the School's Sixth Form students, OGA Treasurer, Caitlin Jones and Headmistress, Ann Aughwane.
Samantha Harris, a member of the OGA Committee, was invited to the event to give a short talk to the girls about the benefits of being a member of the Old Girls' Association.
The OGA currently has 300 past pupils and staff as members and welcomes any former students from Burgess Hill School for Girls to join the Association. The OGA enables past pupils to keep in touch with old friends and staff, share their memories through the yearly L'Alouette magazine and help support the school today.
The Old Girls' Association holds an Annual General Meeting and Reunion at the school every September and a Special Leavers' Reunion on the fourth year after girls have left the school.
If you are an old girl of the School and would like to attend the Reunion event in September, please contact the school on 01444 241050. There is a useful link on the School's website for any former students who would like to join the Old Girls' Association. They can also contact the Secretary by email on ogasecretary@yahoo.co.uk or phone the School for more information.
