Outstanding: The Choir with the X Factor
Five members of the seventy strong Burgess Hill School for Girls’ Junior School choir show off the cup awarded for Best School Choir in the Mid Sussex Music Festival. The choir has been invited to repeat their winning performance at the Festival Showcase Concert. The adjudicators commented on the very high quality work of the choir with its lovely dynamics and accurate, well-managed part singing awarding them a distinction along with the cup. The Junior School's Suzuki group and the String Quartet were also awarded the mark of distinction by the judges. "We have had two wonderful weekends of music organised by the Mid Sussex Music Festival Committee. Music is such an important aspect of life at our school and we are proud of all the girls' achievements both in their solo and group performances in the Festival", said a delighted Julie Playford, Co-ordinator of Music in the Junior School.
