2005 - 2006 As if shoppers weren’t already aware that Christmas is just around the corner, they were soon put in the festive mood by Year 5 singers and orchestral players from Burgess Hill School for Girls, who performed carols through lunchtime in the Martlets Shopping Centre, Burgess Hill. Junior School music specialist, Julie Playford, said, ‘We have a wide range of abilities and talents at Burgess Hill School and this was a perfect opportunity to further build confidence by performing in public.’
Every year, girls at the school involve themselves in a wide variety of fundraising activities for charity. This outward looking attitude is very much encouraged in the ethos of the school and the girls were very pleased to add two bulging collecting tins to their rolling total for Cancer Research UK.
