South East Region Champions
Burgess Hill School for Girls’ tennis teams have been in tremendous form over recent months. Both the U13 and U15 teams have been taking part in the National Schools’ Nestlé Tennis Competition since April and cruised past their opposition in Sussex, to win the county area. In September, the U13 team beat Perins School from Hampshire 6 matches to 0 and also St George’s College, Weybridge 4 matches to 2. Meanwhile the U15 were also in fine form beating St Swithun’s School, Hampshire 4 matches to 2 and Putney High, Surrey 5 matches to 1. Both teams now go on to represent the South East Region in the National Quarter Finals stage to be held in Basildon, Essex later this month. Only the top 16 schools in the country are now left in the competition with more than 3000 schools having entered back in April. An outstanding achievement.
