Senior Citizens' Christmas Tea Party

As a follow up to the Garden Party which took place towards the end of the Summer Term, Year 11 at Burgess Hill School for Girls hosted a Senior Citizens’ Christmas Tea Party on Thursday 6th December, where over 100 guests attended for musical entertainment, afternoon tea and Christmas festivities. It was a fitting occasion for the girls to demonstrate their creativity on stage as well as their hospitality and warmth off stage. The entertainment featured many charming pieces, from instrumental compositions to a poem written especially for the occasion by one of the girls. Perhaps one of the most heart-warming moments was when Naomi Larsson performed a rendition of ‘Moon River’, unexpectedly accompanied by a hall of soft voices. As the event drew to a close every guest received a potted flower which were individually planted by the girls and handed out as an innovative souvenir for the afternoon.
