Sports' News The U14 Netball team from Burgess Hill School for Girls recently took part in the annual St Leonards-Mayfield Invitational Tournament. The girls played some fantastic netball in the group stage beating Mayfield 10-8, Kent College 12-4, St. Mary’s Hall 12-2, Bethany 22-2, St Bede’s 13-7 and Beechwood 10-3 to go through as the group winner.
In the semi finals they played Walthamstow Hall and the girls rose to the occasion winning by 12 goals to 4, to gain a place in the final where they played St. Leonards- Mayfield. After a slow start the girls found themselves three goals down, but they fought back in style, making great interceptions and shooting with accuracy to win by 11 goals to 9 to become champions.
