2008 - 2009
Old Girls’ Presentation

The Burgess Hill School for Girls ‘Old Girls’ Association’ (OGA) was pleased to announce the winner of a £75 book token at a special ‘Cake and Break’ morning.

Sixth Former Jessica Hall was selected for the award after fellow students nominated her as the girl they felt most worthy of special recognition, aside from academic achievements.

Jessica will receive her award officially at the School’s annual Presentation Evening.  This event will reunite this year’s Upper Sixth and Year 11 leavers on Friday 20th November 2009 to celebrate their achievements.  Students will be presented with their GCSE and A-Level certificates as well as additional academic prizes and recognition of their successes outside school.

The ‘Cake and Break’ morning was attended by all Sixth Formers and hosted by Headmistress Ann Aughwane.  The current OGA Secretary, Katharine Ruff, and Treasurer, Caitlin Jones, were welcomed to the event and spoke to the Sixth Formers about the benefits of keeping in touch with the school after leaving.

The OGA currently has 300 past pupils and staff as members and welcomes any former students from Burgess Hill School for Girls to join the Association.  The OGA enables past pupils to keep in touch with old friends and staff, share their memories through the yearly L'Alouette magazine and help support the school today.  The Old Girls' Association holds an Annual General Meeting and Reunion at the school every September and a Special Leavers' Reunion on the fourth year after girls have left the school.

If you are an old girl of the School and would like to attend the Reunion event in September, please contact the school on 01444 241050.  Any former students who would like to join the Old Girls Association can contact the Secretary by email on ogasecretary@yahoo.co.uk or phone the School for more information.
