The Junior School
Parental Involvement
We believe that education should be a partnership between home and school and we therefore welcome parental involvement at all times.
Regular parent consultation evenings are held throughout the year but parents may make an appointment at any time if they need to speak to a teacher or to the Head.
One evening very early in each new academic year parents are invited to their daughter's form room for an informal meeting. This is an opportunity to meet the form teacher, hear briefly about the year ahead, meet new parents and the FOS representative and enjoy a glass of wine!
Written Reports are issued twice a year, in December and July
Regular half-termly Newsletters and an updated web site keep parents informed at all times.
Parents are encouraged to attend all major events such as concerts, matches, plays etc.
The school values greatly the support it receives each year from its parent-body.
Parents Helping in School
There are many ways in which interested parents can become involved in the school. We are also delighted to have grandparents coming in to hear children read.
- Accompanying expeditions and visits.
- Supporting sewing, craft and cookery sessions.
- Helping with costumes for productions.
- Offering particular skills/talents or potentially useful contacts which might enhance the curriculum.
- Form representatives on the Friends of the School Committee. (FOS)
- Helping in the Library
- Assisting with the Year 6 Cycling Proficiency week
“The setting has built outstanding links with parents, who were overwhelmingly supportive of the school in their responses to the questionnaire. Parents are kept very well informed about their child’s progress and the open door policy is appreciated with parents valuing the welcoming and caring nature of the setting”.
