The Sixth Form
Curriculum

The majority of our students study four AS Levels in the Lower Sixth and three or four A2 levels in the Upper Sixth. There are opportunities, through the extra curricular programme, to study Mandarin Chinese or Greek to GCSE level and also to opt to pursue, amongst other things, the European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL).

Additionally, students follow a Life Skills course and Speakers’ Programme. The series of lectures on a wide variety of subjects is given by invited speakers with stimulating special interests and professions. The PE programme is responsive to student interest and girls select options from an extensive range from recreational pursuits to focused training sessions.

An optional Sixth Form symposium takes place most weeks in the autumn and spring terms. The programme is designed to encourage the girls to ‘think outside the box’, to extend their horizons beyond their subject areas and open their minds to new and interesting concepts. It is particularly valuable for those girls applying for competitive courses at prestigious universities who may have interviews as part of their selection process.
